Goin' on sabbatical....

It's here. The (almost) six months gift given to my husband (and me, by default--or marriage or something) by our wonderful parish. We are on sabbatical. Going to exotic places. Celebrating our daughter's marriage. Having time to do some things around the house. And right now, sitting on the balcony overlooking the gulf as the sun is about to set.
This blog is my therapy. It is not necessarily what PriestHusband (PH) is doing. He is studyin' and stuff. I am living. It's what I do. Which involves extensive analyzing. This blog may save our marriage. Because we are going to have a LOTTA time together. And I like to talk and talk and talk about things. He's pretty good about listening. But I can be a bit much to take.So I'll talk on here.
So far I've been reading. Just beachy books.(More about them later.) Visiting with some old friends and one lovely daughter. And watching some crazy active little kids who make me miss mine being little.(One girl reminds me of the era of the sunflower bathing suit---BrideGirl,(BG) remember? As Baby Girl(BBG) says, there's no energy like a kid's energy. We've played a little tennis, warshers, and paddle ball. Run on the beach.
And then we eat.
We've had shrimpers, red snapper, redfish, trout, roasted asparagus, cantaloupe, broccoli, spinach, georgia peaches, nectarines, blueberries, avocados, vidalia onions, peaches and cream corn, roasted pattypan squash (grown by FarmerBoy) (FB)  purple new potatoes, heirloom tomatoes. And---
1.Salt and Vinegar Potato Chips
2.Ben and Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk

Those are my Beach Bad Habits. I reserve other ones for other times. As Daughter-in-law (DIL) said," Maybe it should be saFATical." I'm pretty sure she meant PHat.
(note: DIL did NOT say anyone was fat. I am the one analyzing.)
Every night as we sit on the balcony, it hits me anew. We are so privileged. I continue to be amazed at and overwhelmed by the things that come my way. We have watched the moon rise and set, wax and wane. Last night we mapped the stars using ...wait for it....the IPAD and a 99 cent app! It was great fun. Scorpio, Libra, Virgo. Periodically I would need to remind Ed to look up. He does love that Ipad!
Tomorrow we leave this paradise and head to Jackson, MS for a short, but rich visit with our friends of 20 years. More good times....
